Akshaye Khanna leaves Drishyam 3 just 10 days before shooting

Akshay Khanna is currently receiving immense praise for his powerful portrayal of the Dakait Rehman in his recently released film Dhurandhar.

Although Ranveer Singh is the lead hero of the film, the entire limelight has been stolen by Akshay Khanna. His acting has won everyone’s hearts. The whole world is applauding his performance, and his scenes are going viral on social media.

However, amidst this success, some bad news has emerged: Akshay Khanna has backed out of Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited film Drishyam 3.

Now, the film’s producer, Kumar Mangat Pathak, has spoken openly about the entire matter. He strongly criticized Akshay Khanna, saying that success had gone to his head.

Kumar Mangat revealed that Akshay left the film just ten days before shooting was scheduled to begin, resulting in significant losses for them. Therefore, they have sent a legal notice to Akshay Khanna and are preparing to take further legal action.

Akshay Khanna has not yet responded to the notice. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kumar Mangat stated that an agreement had been reached with Akshay. His fees had been finalized after several rounds of negotiations, and an advance payment had also been made.

However, Akshay Khanna suddenly refused to do the film. A major point of contention was that Akshay Khanna wanted to wear a wig for his character.

Director Abhishek Pathak explained to him that it wasn’t possible because Drishyam 3 directly connects to Drishyam 2, and the continuity of the story would be disrupted.

Akshay initially agreed, but later, people around him advised that he would look smarter wearing a wig. He then made the demand again. The team was even ready to discuss it. But then Akshay said he didn’t want to be in the film at all.

Kumar Mangat expressed his surprise, saying, “Drishyam 3 starts exactly where Drishyam 2 ended. How can his character suddenly have hair? Is there any technology in the world that can grow hair in minutes?”

He also mentioned that Akshay had initially loved the script. But after the tremendous success of Dhurandhar, his attitude changed.

Recalling Akshay’s earlier days, Kumar Mangat said that there was a time when Akshay had no work. It was he who produced Section 375 in 2019, which gave Akshay recognition. Even then, many people had warned that Akshay’s behavior was unprofessional and his presence on set was very toxic.

Then, in 2022, he was given a chance in Drishyam 2, after which Akshay started receiving big offers. Before that, he was sitting at home for three to four years.

The producer further added that Dhurandhar is Ranveer Singh’s film, Chaava is Vicky Kaushal’s, and the Drishyam franchise belongs to Ajay Devgn. If Akshay does a film alone, it won’t even earn Rs 50 crore in India.

Some actors star in multi-starrer films and start considering themselves superstars when their films become hits.

Akshaye Khanna even claimed that the film ‘Dhurandhar’ was a success because of him, but success depends on many factors. However, the news is that Jaideep Ahlawat has now replaced Akshay Khanna.

Kumar Mangat praised him, saying, ” Drishyam is a huge brand. Akshay’s presence or absence doesn’t make any difference. By God’s grace, we have found an actor better than Akshay Khanna and an even better person.”

Jaideep Ahlawat had previously worked with Kumar Mangat in the 2010 film ‘Aakrosh’.

I don’t follow hype. I analyze it, review it, and call it out when it’s trash.
