I just turned on Netflix, tried it for 15 minutes, and then boom, I couldn’t stop watching.
You must have seen countless movies about Kashmir and the terrorism associated with it, such as Uri, The Kashmir Files, Mission Kashmir, Article 370, Haider, Shikara, etc. Some were fictional, while others were based on reality.
Though the story of Baramulla is fictional.
If you have seen the trailer, you might have also felt a supernatural horror vibe.
The film’s genre is also supernatural horror. However, the issue raised regarding Kashmiri Pandits or the terrorism there, and the way these two issues are combined with a horror thriller and ultimate suspense, bro, my heart was shaken after watching the climax of this film.

You might be thinking, again, that this is a commercial movie based on Kashmir that can be easily skipped. Then wait.
First of all, it’s only a two-hour movie. It keeps you hooked from start to finish.
There are no songs.
There is one song at the end, towards the climax. That too serves only to understand and sum up the story.
This is not a regular movie at all. It’s more of a suspense thriller than horror. It offers a very novel twist to the Kashmiri story. Despite this, it doesn’t have any major actors. There’s no star kid superstar here. The content itself is literally king.
It is worth appreciating that all the actors cast in the film, including the kids, did such a great job that they left behind all the so-called new actors of today.
By the way, let me tell you that this film has been made by Aditya Dhar, who had made Vicky Kaushal’s Uri, and his Dhurandhar is also about to release.
Although he is not the director, he is the writer and producer of this film. But every scene, every frame of the film will make you feel an eerie type of atmosphere.
But the condition is that it was shot in a beautiful, eye-pleasing environment.
The way the horrific reality of that place has been presented, that too with 100% conviction. Hats off to the makers for that.
Literally, it takes guts to broach such a topic like this.
I am literally telling you from an audience’s point of view that this is not at all a critic’s film.
Critics have a very different way of judging films.
It’s an audience film that wants entertainment as well as content.
Because I, too, did not start watching this film with the intention of reviewing it. I started it just to pass the time, and I got literally hooked.
So, you will find content, entertainment, performance, horror, thriller, suspense, all in this, and in a very different way.
Maybe in the beginning, you might criticize the makers a bit, seeing that something is being added to something else, but wait, wait for the final act. All your questions will definitely be answered.
There is abusive language used in the movie, but there is no nudity or vulgarity anywhere.
Overall, I give this movie an easy 4 out of 5 stars.
