Is Doom at Your Service Still Worth Watching? Honest Review After Hindi Release

So, look, what happened the day before yesterday on the Prime Video platform was completely unexpected. I mean, seriously, someone at the MX Player office must have lost their job. I can’t understand what they were thinking; you know, MX Player released their entire January slate on the Prime Video platform the day before yesterday. All the dramas, including the C-dramas, have been released.

But unfortunately, that’s not what we’re discussing today. Instead, we’re spilling some hot tea on a very special K-drama called Doom at Your Service.

What is this K-drama like? Which audience does it target? And now that it’s available in Hindi, why shouldn’t you miss it?

Let’s spill some hot tea!

It consists of a total of 16 episodes. It’s also available in Hindi dubbing on Prime Video. The Hindi dubbing is quite good.

The series extensively explores the romantic theme. So, you’ll see some romantic moments and a few kissing scenes, as far as I remember.

Yes, I watched it in the original language a long time ago. But before I comment on how the series is, let me give you a little idea of the plot.

Plot

It follows the story of a girl who has a cancer-like illness.

Basically, she doesn’t have much time left. Her death is certain within three months. And as the days pass, her condition gets worse and worse.

When she can’t bear the pressure anymore, one day she makes a wish. She wishes for the world to end. And then, her wish is heard by a god of doom, a deity of destruction.

When the god of doom comes to her door, the two of them make a contract. And what consequences will this contract have on their lives? To find out about the twists and turns, you’ll have to watch this series.

Doom at Your Service Review

I’ll just say that its appeal is so strong that it’s calling out to you, saying, “Come and enjoy me!” No sugarcoating, it’s a fantastic series. You shouldn’t miss it.

In case you liked the My Demon K-drama, then after watching this K-drama, you’ll be touching its feet in respect. That’s the level of storytelling you get here.

Now, since it’s a story, there will definitely be problems, and I’ll get to those, but let’s talk about some of the good things first.

The story feels outdated today, but it was fresh at the time of its release. We’ve recently watched K-dramas like My Demon and Death’s Game. So I won’t say that you’ll find the story completely fresh. But still, the plot is very engaging. Especially in the first half, the cute love story, the journey, and the adventure you see are top-notch.

Additionally, the cinematography and visuals deserve special mention. At times, it honestly feels like you’re watching a moving painting. That’s the kind of visual experience this series offers.

There are twists and turns in the story, you know, it has a contract-based theme. So you’ll see twists and turns related to that, and while watching the villain, the same questions keep coming to mind: Who is he? Where did he come from? And how does the system of the gods work? All these things are explored in the series.

When you watch it, the fantasy elements will keep you entertained in every episode.

All the actors’ performances are excellent. And the way the leads have performed, you’ll really enjoy watching them.

Problems

The second half didn’t feel as satisfying to me. I mean, it touched upon the things I was hoping for, but didn’t explore them enough. For example, the series doesn’t explore the fantasy elements very much.

Secondly, the supporting characters have almost no development. They don’t add any fun to the series, which they really should have.

Regarding the ending, I had some mixed feelings, but that’s a personal opinion, so I won’t comment on it. But putting all that aside, I’ll just say that this is a fantastic and lovely series.

Conclusion

If you like fantasy romantic K-dramas like My Demon, then I would definitely say ignore the flaws, avoid everything else, and watch this K-drama. You’ll enjoy it immensely. And even if you don’t usually like romantic series, give this one a try because the concept is quite engaging and will keep you hooked throughout the series.

As a New Year watch, this series works exceptionally well. My final rating stands at 8.5/10.

Happy New Year!

I don’t follow hype. I analyze it, review it, and call it out when it’s trash.
