Ekaki Review: Ashish Chanchlani’s Big Comeback

Ashish Chanchlani is back, this time not with a video but with a series.

Now, if you’re on the internet at all, you already know that Ashish Chanchlain’s Ekaki was about to drop on his channel. And Chapter 1 is finally out. It’s been a long wait, man.

Along with this, he was also struggling with many things in the background, as he says in a podcast, “I dated someone, and it did not turn out to be as I expected.”

But finally, Ekaki is releasing.

First of all, the reason for bringing something different, like Ekaki, is that Ashish Chanchlani loves the story. Furthermore, he had reached his breaking point because of the content he constantly creates.

I understand the boredom that sets in when you keep doing the same things day in and day out.

And I hadn’t watched Ashish Chanchlani’s videos for a long time because I found them repetitive.

But Ekaki is quite different because it has horror in it, and I always like horror. I’ve only narrowly escaped death a couple of times.

Horror always hits the spot.

And just a few days ago, I watched Ekaki Chapter 1. If you don’t know, let me tell you how I was watching it.

I had all the lights off in the room. I had snacks with me, and I was watching with the speakers at full volume.

That means your brother watched it with full experience.

My name is Ayush, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on the Indian YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani’s series, Ekaki. Get ready for some intriguing insights!

Ekaki Chapter 1 Review

Where are all those people now who never miss a chance to look down on YouTubers? Whether it’s making movies or selling dish soap, everyone eventually needs them.

And now we have someone who’s literally brought cinema to YouTube itself and made every YouTuber proud.

Ashish Chanchlani: While his name alone is enough, if you want to focus on your work, there couldn’t be a better day than today, because the most important video of Ashish Chanchlani’s life has gone live on YouTube. It’s crashed. The fan following of big stars is in danger.

Ekaki Ashish Chanchlani’s dream project is, and look, whether it’s a movie or a series, you can say whatever you want about it.

He has selected a topic that even cinema people think twice before doing.

The first is horror, the second is comedy, scaring someone and making someone laugh, but Ashish chose to scare someone while making them laugh and scare them while laughing.

So boss, Ekaki’s Chapter 1 is out, and it runs for around half an hour, maybe two or three minutes more. And in that time, you basically get a small introduction to the world of “Ekaki”.

Last year, “Footage” was one of the most underrated films in the Malayalam industry. Two people have disappeared. No one knows whether they are alive or not, but their last few hours are recorded on camera, which someone finds.

I’m mentioning this film because its category and subject matter are the same as “Ekaki” (found footage cinema).

In a way, you will be assured that what you are watching is not a film, but a live recording of real people, shot on camera, in which something that should not have happened happened.

So, the film begins with a road trip filled with many jokes. Double-meaning dialogues will be spoken, and Ashish will take full advantage of his powers.

Some friends have traveled to an unknown location outside the city on a vacation trip, and Ekaki Villa is ready to welcome them. Yes, the name of the house is also the name of the film. While Ashish is there, there will be comedy, but what will surprise you is the horror element incorporated into the film, which begins with some zombie-like figures.

You know how dangerous zombies are, right? How can you kill someone already dead? But somewhere, I feel that films will depict black magic, not zombies.

And let me tell you the most surprising thing: Ashish Bhaiya could have cast any big actor as the villain in the film, but do you know who he chose for the villain?

Lights.

Yes, the lights in the house flicker on and off as if they have their own minds, and humans aren’t used to a world where anyone else is using their own minds.

But my favorite shot in the entire 30 minutes of this film is a woman in a white saree, shown in a very creative and cinematic way near a river in the middle of a forest, surrounded by darkness and silence.

The rest of the film’s video quality is truly top-notch. It won’t feel like a typical YouTube video. The audio has also been carefully considered.

There’s a party song that depicts a fun-filled, real-life male party, and Nucleya’s famous song “Tumhari beti ke ander ek bhayanak Atma hai.” This was cleverly used to create a sense of dread in the story.

Just keep in mind a couple of things: the content is a bit over-friendly. Ashish’s channel’s audience will enjoy it, but it might offend some.

Secondly, only Chapter 1 has been released, so don’t expect a masterpiece. Chapter 2 may blow your mind by gradually increasing the suspense and twists. Early judgment is fine, but don’t make a final judgment.

You’ll definitely enjoy the rest if you watch it yourself. Currently, 90% is comedy. But personally, I want to see more of those 10% supernatural horror scenes and am excited for them.

It’s a good start; content is reaching audiences on YouTube for free. The day isn’t far when film stars and the film industry will start taking this platform and its creators seriously.

Chapter 2: December 8, 2025. I’ve set a reminder, boss. You should go and watch it quickly too. Then we’ll guess who the real mastermind of this film will be.

Take care, bye-bye.
