ZEE5’s Honeymoon Se Hatya Review: Decent True Crime That Plays It Safe

It used to be said that single people had miserable lives. But nowadays, even married people don’t have it easy. Because if you get a divorce, you lose money, and if you don’t, you might lose your life. ZEE5 has brought a show based on five such deadly stories, titled “Honeymoon Se Hatya” (From Honeymoon to Murder). This show depicts the stories of five women from five different Indian cities who murdered their husbands. This show tells their stories.

The narrative begins with the Meerut Drum case and then focuses on other cases that became popular in the media. Since these stories were extensively covered in the news, most of the information presented here is something you probably already know.

In my opinion, this show didn’t personally excite me much. Why? Because you’re making a documentary show, right? And it should ideally reveal things we don’t already know. But all these incidents happened recently, so we already know everything about them. That’s why my excitement wasn’t very high.

However, I didn’t stop watching the show because I was enjoying it. But I already knew everything that happened. If they had used a different angle or interviewed someone whose perspective we weren’t aware of, it would have been more interesting. Instead, ZEE 5 took a very safe route, which resulted in a lack of originality.

I guess if this show were released 10 or 12 years from now, and the audience of that time watched it, they would really like it. Why? Because that generation wouldn’t be familiar with these things, these incidents. Even if they were, the memories would be somewhat hazy. So, this show would impress them quite a bit.

It’s difficult for the current generation to be as attracted to or impressed by this show.

So, if I were to review the show in one line for you, it’s a decent one-time watch show from which you shouldn’t expect too much.

Like i said, the show is a documentary, so some scenes were converted into dramatic sequences. That was good. The music was okay. Nothing extraordinary, but the concern remains the same: we already know what will happen, how it will happen, and in what way.

The show also features an expert to explain criminal psychology, but she seemed confused herself at several points. I found myself thinking, “If she can’t explain it clearly to us, what is the point?

All in all, if you don’t have much knowledge about these cases, you can watch this show once.

I would give this show 6/10.

Parental Guidance

  • Nudity: None
  • Intimacy: There are some intimate scenes, but they are not explicit or vulgar.
  • Language: No profanity is used, though the word “sex” is mentioned once.

Conclusion

So, that was my review of the show “Honeymoon Se Hatya” (Honeymoon to Murder). I hope I was able to explain everything clearly. If you have any complaints or want to praise me, the comment box is open 24 hours a day. Feel free to write whatever you want.

Have a good day.

I don’t follow hype. I analyze it, review it, and call it out when it’s trash.
