The K-drama we’re discussing today has been mired in controversy since its announcement.
If you’re not familiar, let me tell you that the two leads in this K-drama weren’t actually cast. When the show was announced, the plan was to cast Han So-hee and Song Hye-kyo. However, some issues arose, leading to their departure from the project.
But finally, thanks to the makers of Crash Landing On You, they didn’t abandon the project.
Yes, the makers of this K-drama are the same ones who gave you K-dramas like Crash Landing On You. So, how is The Price Of Confession overall? Should you watch it? And especially, which audience is this K-drama targeting?
To understand this, I have a small request: from now on, please carefully consider everything I tell you. And try to stay until the end, because there’s an offer for you.
Basic details
You’ll have to endure 12 episodes, each around 50 minutes long. This is a limited series; there won’t be a Season 2, meaning the story is complete in Season 1.
It’s available in Hindi dubbing. The Hindi dubbing is quite good.
You can watch the series with your family if you want. However, you’ll encounter some abusive and sexual harassment scenes. And a fair amount of violence, including some bold scenes.
So, I wouldn’t recommend watching it with young children.
Yes, the series has problems. But if you fall into the category of audiences who enjoy slow-burning, dark thrillers and mystery thrillers, then I’d simply tell you to close your eyes and dive into this K-drama. Its appeal is so strong that it’s beckoning you to come and enjoy it.
Story
The story revolves around a woman who is framed for her husband’s murder. She goes to jail and meets another woman there. They both strike a deal.
Now, you have to figure out what the deal was between them. What will its ultimate consequences be? And what murder case is the other woman in jail accused of?
And the biggest question is, the main lady: did she kill her husband or not? You’ll have to watch the show to get the answer.
The Price of Confession Review
I’ve seen many series and movies based on the whodunit concept. I’ve seen murder mystery series, but this kind of concept was new to me.
No doubt, it’s an interesting concept.
The story of the series is very engaging and presented with plenty of twists and turns that keep you glued to the screen from the first episode to the last.
And the best part is the outstanding performances of the leads.
Now, you’ll feel the absence because, as I mentioned, Han So-hee and Song Hye-kyo dropped out of the project midway, but Kim Go-eun and Jeon Do-yeon are no less; they’ve created a sensation. Especially, Kim Go-eun’s character is presented with such layering that you’re curious to know what she wants.
You’ll also see Park Hae-soo in this, and his performance as a prosecutor was excellent.
The person who turns out to be the killer in the end will give you a shock value because you don’t expect the person in front of you to be the killer.
The series’ twists and turns and the big reveals in the second half have an impact on you. They surprise you.
Rest, production quality, and BGM are all excellent.
Overall, this series is selling itself as a murder mystery. Its murder mystery is quite good. The makers have presented it with a lot of layering, which works. It keeps you completely hooked.
Problem
As I said at the beginning, the series has problems, the biggest of which is that it is extremely slow. This series will only be acceptable to those who enjoy a slow-burning ride. In those cases, if you can’t digest slow-burning content, this series will definitely put you to sleep by the fourth episode.
Secondly, the first half of the series will feel very lazy. This means there aren’t any high-voltage twists or turns, or anything shocking that will surprise you immediately. The makers have saved everything for the finale. And very few viewers will be able to reach there.
Since the series is slow, it obviously feels lengthy.
Conclusion
You know, everything has its flaws, but leaving those aside, I’ll just say this: If you enjoy slow-burning, dark thrillers, or if you enjoy mystery thrillers with a chilling atmosphere and unforgettable performances, I’d definitely recommend this as a good K-drama. You should at least give it a try.
It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you start it and the story connects with you, then you should definitely watch this series. They’ve created a truly excellent series.
The makers entertain you, but they also throw tough moral questions your way.
Personally, I also liked the series. The presentation would have been more enjoyable if it had been a little more moderate, but I still enjoyed it.
The murder mystery that unfolded kept me intrigued. I had a deep desire, a craving to find out who the killer was. I stuck with the series until the end to find out.
Overall, I took my time and watched it comfortably. It was worth watching.
And considering all these things, if I had to rate this series, it would be 8/10 stars. In my opinion, it’s a solid murder mystery thriller, where you can feel everything from the characters’ emotions to the suspense.
Therefore, I definitely recommend giving the series a try.

It’s fascinating how the show survived such a major casting shake-up, especially with the departure of Han So-hee and Song Hye-kyo. The involvement of the ‘Crash Landing On You’ team gives it credibility, but I do wonder how the change in leads affected the chemistry.
