So, for all the horny fans out there, listen up. This is a K-drama I’ve been excited about ever since the poster was first announced. And no, I’m not talking about “that” aspect. I only realized it featured those kinds of scenes when the teaser dropped.
I’m talking about the time when the poster first came out. It had a certain vibe; you know, it felt like we were finally getting a K-drama that would deliver some proper romance.
Back then, it seemed like the Koreans were just recycling the same old rom-com tropes.
So, finally, the K-drama “A Love Other Than Yours” has been released. The first two episodes are out, and I’ve watched them. The rest will drop weekly; it’s up to Prime Video. And if you’re exploring more Prime Video series, you can also check out my The Revolutionaries review, where I break down the historical drama’s story, pacing, performances, and biggest drawbacks.
What was my experience with the first two episodes? What’s in it for the horny fans who are, after all, the target audience for this show? Will they actually enjoy it? And should “you” Give this K-drama a chance?
So, let’s spill some tea!
A Love Other Than Yours Release Schedule and Hindi Dub
It is confirmed that you can watch this K-drama every Saturday and Sunday, and I must say, the Hindi dubbing is quite well done.
At the very beginning, the lead actor’s voice might feel a bit jarring, but you’ll get used to it after about half an hour.
Also, if you plan to watch this series with your family don’t. As I mentioned earlier, it targets a more ‘lusty’ audience; you start seeing suggestive content just five minutes in.
It hasn’t reached an extreme level yet I wouldn’t call it the steamiest K-drama out there but it definitely packs some heat.
That’s why I’d suggest watching it alone; the steamy scenes might tone down later on, but for now, they are certainly present.
A Love Other Than Yours Story
As for the story, it’s quite simple.
There’s a girl and a boy who have known each other since childhood. When they turn 26, they decide to start dating; she is a director, and he works at a company.
But something happens in the girl’s life that makes her decide to end their ten-year relationship just like that, “it’s done, bro.”
Honestly, when that moment came up in the series, I was wondering: what does a girl actually want? The guy is trying to make things work and move forward after all, every relationship has its share of fights.
But she remains completely adamant; she is set on breaking up.
The breakup happens, the guy leaves, and then the tears start flowing.
Say what you will, but it was a sweet moment, man. A really sweet moment.
By watching the series, you have to find out whether their breakup is for real or if their friends can manage to reconcile them. At the same time, what will be the consequences of the chaos that erupts in their careers? Will they get a happy ending after all?
To find this out, you’ll have to follow their journey in this K-drama.
A Love Other Than Yours Review
There is no doubt that the series gets off to a fantastic start. At least it isn’t a “slow-burn” drama. Do you know how romantic dramas often tend to be slow-paced? This one, however, has a very cheerful vibe.
Once you’ve watched just 15 minutes of the series, you naturally find yourself getting immersed in its world. You start wanting to see what happens next wondering what lies in store for the lead characters.
Even though the plot is straightforward, the presentation creates a really cozy atmosphere. It’s genuinely enjoyable to watch and very entertaining.
The opening is amazing, and for those who love romance, the waterworks will start right from the very first episode; it really tugs at the heartstrings. The scenes in the opening episode are truly impactful.
Should You Watch A Love Other Than Yours?
I’d say this is a must-watch for romance fans. If you enjoyed “Queen of Tears” or like romantic themes and K-dramas, you shouldn’t miss this. You’ll really enjoy it; give it a watch.
But even for the general audience who don’t usually like this kind of K-drama, I’d still recommend giving this one a try; it’ll be something fresh for you, too.
So far, the show is entertaining; it certainly doesn’t feel boring at all.
The actors’ performances and the production quality seem quite solid so far; now, it’s just a matter of seeing how the story unfolds in the upcoming episodes.
If something particularly interesting happens, I’ll definitely try to write about it; otherwise, I’m planning to do a full, detailed review later.
For now, though, I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a sweet, romantic K-drama one that features some steamy moments, playful bickering between characters, and a bit of emotional drama. It looks like a fun series not boring at all so give it a shot.
Also, if you’ve watched the first two episodes, let me know in the comments whether or not you’re excited to watch the rest.
